EYCDC was designated as the ‘anchor organisation’ within this area as we have the right kind of constitution, bank account and track record. Included in this funding award is £10,000 for Crisis Grants to help households within the valleys who have lost income through the lockdown restrictions.
Our bright red electric vehicle has been busy out and about picking up shopping and making deliveries and you will probably have seen it up and down the valleys over during the lockdown weeks. Many thanks to driver Ken for stepping up and to all the people who have helped to care for those self-isolating – what a great community we live in.
We have now received funding from the Scottish Government Supporting Communities Fund to provide additional help within the valleys.
EYCDC was designated as the ‘anchor organisation’ within this area as we have the right kind of constitution, bank account and track record. Included in this funding award is £10,000 for Crisis Grants to help households within the valleys who have lost income through the lockdown restrictions. The guidelines and the application form are below.
The guidelines and an application form will be sent out direct to anyone who emails requesting them to crisisgrant@ettrickandyarrow.org.uk The forms will also be available in the Post Office in Selkirk to pick up.
The funding also includes help for various aspects of the valley response going forward. If you need help with reaching an appointment (as soon as restrictions allow) , shopping from Tanya at the Honey Cottage Caravan Park shop or need something picked up in Selkirk or Hawick please contact myself or contact Ken directly. The running costs of the Electric Vehicle are covered, we can pay for driver hours going forward, it saves the environment, but most of all, we want to help people stay safe and stay home.
